Dakota and Austin met as teenagers working at the same movie theater. But their love story didn't begin until 5 years later when they unexpectedly bumped into each other at the University of Nevada Reno.
This sweet couple was nervous about eloping, wondering if they would regret not doing a big wedding. Photographer and elopement specialist Ruthanne Z. put their minds at ease and now Dakota says she does not regret a single thing.
Choosing to elope in Lake Tahoe had a very special significance for the bride. As a child, she spent many months at a house on the lake with her dad and when he passed away, Dakota couldn't think of a place where she could connect with him more strongly.
The couple said their vows in a sunrise ceremony high above the lake. The entire day was inspired by those who have made Dakota and Austin the people they are today, including their adorable Golden Retriever whose likeness appeared on the invitations and the cake.
After the ceremony, they held a small brunch reception followed by an afternoon of celebrating at the lake. "There is absolutely nothing I would change!" the bride exclaimed.
