This wedding from Elise Events encompasses everything we love about Lake Tahoe weddings. The couple chose to keep the decor rather simple in an effort to highlight the rustic, yet elegant, beauty that makes up Lake Tahoe. Florals were provided by B & B Designs, and Hip Entertainment kept guests on the dance floor, while Greco Rose Beauty made sure the bride looked stunning all night. Local Tahoe companies D'lish Catering and Elevated Photo Booth ensured that the day's guests were well fed and well photographed at the this beautiful private estate. We were fortunate enough to find a lovely private estate for our venue, located right on the lake in beautiful Rubicon Bay. Hiring our wedding planner, Danielle, from Elise Events, was one of the best wedding decisions we made. She was instrumental in helping bring our ideas to life, and handled every last detail, which really allowed us to relax and enjoy our wedding day. I wanted the decorations to complement, and not distract, from the rustic elegance of the venue, so we focused on a neutral color palette for everything from the flowers and linens to the bridesmaid dresses. Brandy, from B&B Designs, created beautiful natural floral arrangements and garlands with soft white flowers and a variety of greenery like eucalyptus and olive branches. Our ceremony stands out as my favorite part of the wedding. With the Lake as our backdrop, Tyke’s brother officiated the ceremony, carefully weaving together our two separate stories of how we met and why we are so excited to spend the rest of our lives together. Tyke and I walked down the aisle with a parent on each arm, exchanged the vows we had written for each other, and had members of our wedding party each share a blessing for our marriage. We wanted to make sure that our wedding was filled with personal touches that represented us as a couple. At the reception, we served our favorite local beers and wines, and crafted the recipes for our signature cocktails ourselves. Tyke’s close friend from college performed the song “More than Life” by Whitley on guitar for our first dance, a song that we both knew and loved from the time we began dating. During dinner, we asked each table to write a note for us to open on various anniversaries, and we’re already so excited to read them in the years to come. We kept our guest list small; about 85 people, and I loved that we were able to spend time and create memories with every single person there. We ate pie with my best friend, sampled the whiskey bar with our brothers, danced to Third Eye Blind with old high school friends, and lounged by the fire pit with Tyke’s family. I underestimated how incredibly special it would feel to have all the people you love most in the world in the same place. The whole day was simply magical, and the amount of love and joy felt on that day is something I’ll never forget.
