As I began pouring over Alison and Zac's West Shore Caf and Inn wedding and sifting through all the images by Ciprian Photography, I fell more and more in love with the moments in between all the details I am so often drawn too. There is not even one image where the bride and groom don't have ear to ear smiles. Along with the images of the gorgeous couple the design details of this wedding are definitely not to be overlook because this wedding is as elegant and gorgeous as Lake Tahoe weddings come. Scott Corridan Design filled the reception and ceremony with gorgeous florals that paired perfectly with the bridesmaids' emerald green dresses. Along with this beauty filled gallery be sure to check back next week for the exquisitely filmed wedding video by Rafael Pires Films.
From the Bride ~ Zac and I first met at a work Christmas in December 2009 in Sydney, Australia, where I have been living for the past seven years. Over the next few months, we developed a really great friendship. Eventually we both realized that the connection we had was too strong to ignore and we went on our first official date in December, a year after we met. Unfortunately I was off to the United States to spend Christmas with my family a few days later and Zac was to be going to Chicago for work in January for 6 weeks. We quickly re-arranged our flights so we could spend a week together in California, at my parents house in Lake Tahoe. It was one of the best weeks weve ever had we skied, we stayed up late talking and playing board games, he started to build a relationship with my family. By the time Zac left for Chicago and I returned to Sydney, we both knew this was something serious. Over the past three years weve had many adventures together from hanging out around Sydney and getting to know our neighborhood, to traveling, to just spending time at home enjoying each others company. In October 2012 we had planned a weekend trip to Uluru, and Zac surprised me in the morning while we were packing with a proposal! I excitedly said yes, and we shared the happy news with our family and friends. As we began planning our wedding, Tahoe was our first choice. Ive been going to Tahoe for as long as I can remember, and its now become a second home for Zac too. We also wanted to share this amazing place with all our Australian family and friends, and have a holiday destination for everyone traveling from all over the world (we had people travel in from 8 different countries!). My dad actually suggested West Shore Caf as a venue (long before we were even engaged!) and we fell in love with it. Planning a wedding from 8000 miles away was an adventure on its own, but luckily my mom and my whole family were there in California and so helpful in every stage of the process, from scouting venues to meeting with vendors to helping chose table runners and crafting the little details we used. Because it is such a gorgeous venue and has an amazing back drop, we wanted to keep the colors simple and fairly neutral using all whites and gold but still have a bit of rustic glam. The bridesmaids dresses were the only splash of color a beautiful emerald green that ended up looking fantastic with the lake as a background. The day could not have been better. The sun was out in the morning, there was a bit of nervous excitement. As the day went on, the clouds rolled in, and as the bridesmaids made their way down the aisle, there were a few raindrops and some thunder. Luckily, it only lasted a few minutes and we were then gifted the most incredible sky and a double rainbow spanning the lake. Every moment was perfect, from having my uncle officiate, hilarious and touching speeches, to the sparklers on the dock as we left by boat. The best part was having everyone we love from all over the world in one room to see us make this commitment to each other and celebrate our love. From the Photographer ~ The bride and groom's elegant taste and expectations were met impeccably by the entire vendor team with the challenge of time zones that put them half a world away in Australia as they planned for their multi day celebration in September along Tahoe's storied West Shore... a special place to the bride and her family, where they have maintained a home in the fabled neighborhood since the bride's days as a little girl.
