Alison and Kyle wanted a rustic, outdoor, lakeside wedding that was fun and relaxed yet classy and refined. They decided on the FitzHaven Estate for its breathtaking 180 degree view of the lake and surrounding woods. The couple picked neutral tones for their colors so that nothing was taken away from the natural beauty that Lake Tahoe offers. Guests ate a family style dinner provided by Dílish Catering on long farm tables decorated with a sage table runners, mini pinecones, stones, flowers, greenery, and candles in tall hurricanes and rustic outdoor table lanterns. Monique Sady of Photography by Monique, with her creative eye, preserved every detail of the day.

From the Bride ~ Since Kyle and I first started dating (11 years ago!) we have frequently vacationed in Lake Tahoe together, both in the summer and winter. We have also vacationed here separately as children with our families growing up. Lake Tahoe has always been a favorite and very special vacation location for both of us. We both knew as soon as we got engaged that we would marry there. We toured many venues in Lake Tahoe and FitzHaven was the last venue we visited when we were choosing. As soon as we stepped onto the grounds and looked at that view we knew we had to pick it. It was stunning and absolutely gorgeous! Also, Margie, the owner and grounds keeper was incredibly helpful and such a delightful person and always made us feel at ease. We really wanted to draw in the beauty that comes with Tahoe. We chose neutral colors (tan suits, mocha dresses for the bridesmaids, with splashes of sage and orange here and there) so that we would not draw away from the bright green of the grass and trees or the deep blue from the view of the lake. Since it was also a lakeside wedding, we also wanted to draw in the lake theme with a canoe as a beer ice chest, pinecones for decoration, beach stones for the guests name cards, mason jars for our signature drink (a Tahoe Tessie!) and to hold candles on the tables.
